We received a call from one of our clients asking for our help with a fallen chimney on their roof. We immediately dispatched a team of experts to assess the situation and determine the best course of action.
Upon arrival, our team found that the original chimney had been constructed using full-sized stone, which was too heavy for the chimney frame to support. In addition, the weight of the stone had caused the chimney to collapse sideways, damaging the shingles and exposing the attic to the elements and animals.
To address the issue, we knew that we not only had to rebuild the chimney but also reframe the structure to ensure that it could support the weight of the stone. Our team of experts took great care to ensure that the new structure would have adequate support so that the issue would not happen again in the future.
However, we didn’t stop there. To further reduce the weight of the chimney, we used a stone veneer where we cut 80% of the stone while still maintaining the same aesthetic as the original chimney. This allowed us to ensure that the chimney looked just as good without the excessive weight that caused the initial collapse.
Throughout the project, we made sure to keep the roof covered to protect the home from any further damage. We knew our client had already been through enough stress, so we wanted to ensure the repairs were done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Despite the challenges presented by the project, our team’s hard work and dedication paid off in the end. The new chimney looks as though nothing has ever happened, and the roof appears to be intact.
Our client was overjoyed with the result, and we were pleased to have delivered a high-quality solution that met their needs and exceeded their expectations.
